The Velveteen Rabbit is such an amazing story about a little boy who loves his stuffed animal so much that it actually becomes real. In thinking about this books I am reminded of my favorite stuffed animal. He is a teddy bear named Mouse and I loved him so much as a child that of course he began to fall apart. But that just made him even more wonderful. A few years ago my mother pulled him out of an old box and actually had him restored!
He was missing one of his eyes and his arms and legs were barely hanging on. I am most impressed that the restorer was able to match the eyes. Doesn't he look great?
