Aunt Marianne's House

While we are still on the subject of home, I would like to post some great pictures of my Aunt's home and property in Northville Michigan. The 100+ year old house used to be a fish hatchery and my Aunt and Uncle bought it for dirt cheep and completely restored it, inside and out. It was a labor of love and a lot of sweat.

My aunt is the classic American homemaker. From quilting to canning, needlepoint to knitting, you name it, she can do it. She can cook a fantastic meal and reupholster a settee in the same afternoon.

Some of my fondest memories of visiting her house are sitting on the screened in porch drinking her homemade grape juice from the grapes grown in her amazing garden.
